April was the month of daffodils this year. Early and late daffs came together with many going over by Easter, so there was a no more than a three week flush. A very pale lemon kind, opened later than most though and looked fresh when the rest had lost their petals. The narcissi with multiple double blooms on a stem and a wonderful smell also opens late each year and is really more of a May flower. The early tulips lost their petals in the wind and rain.
Memo to myself - the results

- Sow lettuces - yes but have not come up and the replacement packets I left in a friend's car
- Pot on tomatoes - yes, still not flowering by end of month but shot up the last week of the month
- Buy surfinias - did this in March and they have grown well
- Pot up dalias and take cuttings - got so many Bishops grandchildren from saved seed from that I haven't bothered with new tubers
