Garden in late October

I don't think I have ever known three such wonderfully warm days in October here in Leicester as we have had from the 11th to the 13th. The temperature reached 24 degrees C. (However according to the forecast the rain will return tomorrow).

The Jackmanii clematis has come back to full bloom after a fortnight without flowers. The deep purple veined malvas that seed all over the place are in flower everywhere including the pebble paths. The dahlias are at their peak.

Trees shed one layer of leaves only to reveal another green layer underneath and the garden has stayed colourful and fresh throughout the month.
