The second week the weather improved. The pond thawed. The male frogs jumped in to claim their territories

The rest of March was wet, windy and cold, except perhaps for the last day when I was at a meeting and taking no notice.

Paths

Now here is something I have learned from past mistakes. When creating a new path always make it three times wider than you think you will ever need it. I seem to have spent the whole of the past year remaking or moving paths that have become too narrow Look at this now

That cedar was in a pot on the patio for about ten years. It stayed no more than three feet in height the whole of that time. I needed a pot urgently one day about three years ago and planted the cedar in a border.

We widened the path again this month.
