In Ireland, where one of my sons now lives, Spring starts on 1st February. Over here in the English Midlands this year, like last, the birds have been of that opinion too. Snowdrops are massing the side borders.
The birds and squirrels have left me some crocuses
Daffodil buds are showing everywhere. I thought they were particularly early this year until I looked at last year's diary and saw that, by the end of the month, I had whole groups out in flower. Other photographs taken on February 8th
