Endpiece

I have learnt a lot from keeping this journal regularly.

Technically

Pre-planning is important

Next year I will create twelve folders before I begin and preface each picture with a month indicator. Several pictures this year are probably in the wrong place and/or shown twice.

For instance I took one photograph in February and called it daffodils. In March I took another and gave it the same name. When I uploaded the second picture replaced the first one because I had every text file and every image in the same folder. I repeated the mistake with many pictures throughout the year and did not realize what I had done until July. By then it was difficult to disentangle the ensuing muddle especially as I had wiped most of the original pictures.

Gardening

Next year I will try to jot down the date every time I do any sowing or planting out. I would like to note the moon phase too. I wonder if there is an URL that would help me with this?

I think I have definitely proved that I cannot get away with not feeding my vegetables. Putting compost in the ground from the garden heap is not enough. I will aim to keep up with the weeding, feed my vegetables and spray my roses regularly, although I have a feeling I may be called on to spend more time than I can spare in Deux Sevres!
