Iris pseudacorus, the common flag, looks rather like a bearded iris but likes growing in shallow water. I planted it in my pond and now I cannot get get rid of it because it has rooted into the protective liner cemented in under the bricks. In June its flowers rise above the water buttercup to turn that psart of the gaden yellow
