One too often succumbs to temptation and allows forget-me-nots to seed themselves into every bed. If one does one enjoy a spectacular sea of blue in May, present pleasure is bought at the expense of summer bloom since Forget-me-nots will smother herbacious perennials.
Forsythia only flowers in my garden because there are no longer bullfinches to snap off all the buds.
Foxgloves seed themselves profusely but mostly in places where they are not wanted , like the vegetable beds. However, they can be transplanted. 
In my garden even the hardy fuschias often come so late after hard frosts that I find them more useful grown as pot plants to take over from surfinias in the autumn
