Margaret's Garden Journal for November 2010

Mid- November and the garden is still in full leaf
I notice that last November I wrote 'Winter came earlier this year and most deciduous trees in my garden were bare by the beginning of November.' This year autumn has hung on. On 20th November I picked tomatoes from my unheated greenhouse and a bowl of Joanne J raspberries. nmany trees are still in leaf. The maidenhair tree as you can see from the photo above is showing vibrant yellow. The linden across the road retains a set of yellow leaves despite violent winds and heavy rain. So far we have had no frost. The fuschias are flowering better than they have done all summer. I am sure if I had dead-headed my dahlias they would be in bloom, their leaves are still a healthy green.
