Margaret's Garden Journal for March 2011

What a contrast to last year. No snow and a fair sprinkling of above average temperature days although the temperature plunged frquently. The snowdrops soon stopped flowering but their foliage spread upwards and outwards. The daffodils came on apace and by the end of the month most were over. The aubretia flowered early and the first tulips opened out.
The lawn mower man made his first visit of the year. I will have to do something about the grass that was killed by the conifer we cut down.
In the picture above you can see part of the shed fence that will cut off my front garden from the back. The shed on view, one of a planned three is my potting shed. The other one already erected contains kitchen utensils and drinking glasses only used two or three times a year. The third shed I will use to store garden furniture.
